My Window Gardening

I love plants, and I want to plant especially vegetables and flowers. But we have no vacant space in our home, so I've to go to window gardening. I bought pots and garden soil. I planted it with a variety of vegetable and flowers. I utilized the space in every sides of our house.

It's very inspiring to see that the plants were growing so vigorously. Tomatoes and pepper bears plenty of fruits, potatoes produce large tubers, as will as the onions are growing will too. The flowers are blooming with plenty and attractive flowers.

At the start of the fall, I've observed that some of the plants could not survive, such as the tomatoes and pepper but still the other, with a tiny and needle leaves like onion and parsley can withstand during cold weather.

With our window gardening it reduces our daily kitchen budget, with a truly fresh vegetables and flowers as will.

Pole Fishing

In some places ,pole fishing is popular recreational sport .For some working individual they did this as their hobby during their day off .Instead of going to casino for pleasure they prefer to go on pole fishing with their family or friends While waiting the result their family will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the seashore and after they have catch they can have a fresh fish for consumption .
Using pole and some baits is the basic method for fishing whether in fresh or sea water. Even its seems simple to think about pole fishing , it also requires some practice and knowledge to gain a rewarding result .So as a beginner its important to inquire some advice and information from friends with and experienced in pole fishing or to some anglers who have a better knowledge in this particular activities .Some important and basic activities to learn are :
     1) How to assemble fishing pole ?
2)How to find the right baits ?
3)How to set up fly fishing ?
But before we have to go on pole  fishing we have to secure a valid fishing license which is $17 per year plus stamp .We have to present this to conservation officer upon request .There are fines and penalty for fishing with out license .We should also have a valid trout and salmon stamp to legally fish from public water .It is important to  know about the DNR fishing regulation and the fishing methods as will as the size limit for the specific fish . Life has a lot to offer. Eventhough there are many challenges around us we can still enjoy life just like martin hanaka  live his life. Enjoy life and be postive.

Crabbing

Crabbing is the term they used for catching crabs by the used of trap. Baits are enclosed inside the trap .The common baits they used are meat and fish. They will apply this with creamy substance whose odor attract the crabs. The season for catching crabs falls in Winter time, from the month of January to March. Within this time the crabs are bigger enough to qualify the allowed size and weight .
I was very excited when my friend Ben and my son in law, Lee invited me to go for crabbing because I want to know how to catch crab.We went to the crabbing site which is near the harbor .This is a beautiful place ,which is a long bridge going to the pacific ocean .This is purposely built for viewing. There are many travelers who will visit this place, because we can see the complete view of the city .The crescent shape of the seashore along the city and the beautiful towering redwood around with the mountain above which is full of snow. In front of the crabbing site is long sea wall, made of huge boulder of rocks which protect the city from tsunami .Fronting the ocean are a number rocky islets, and one of it is where the lighthouse is erected .The other islets served as the home of the seagull and other sea birds .
Crabbing is fun and enjoyable .When we have done setting our  crab trap, we have to wait about a half an hour before we have to pull up the trap to find out whether there are already crab inside the trap .While waiting the time, we did getting pictures of the captivating views around .
One of the funny thing is that there are sea lions roaming around which took the baits .When we pulled up the trap there was no more bait remain except the trap which we in closed the baits in a pocket. In the other trap we got some crabs but when we measure it , it doesn't qualify to the minimum size of 6" in diameter .Mostly of the crabs we got did not qualify the size and weight so we returned it to the sea .But before we went home we were able to catch one which qualify the size .Even if our trip was not profitable we gain an experience in crabbing. It's fun and enjoyable hobby .

Let It Snow

It's Winter time! Bring out the snowboard racks and let's head out skiing and enjoy the beauty of snow. It's really cold now here in our place but we never get a snow. That's why most of the people here go to Shasta with their snowboards. Snowboarding is a fun activity for the whole family. I am pretty sure my kids will have a blast once they play in the snow.In other places such as Oklahoma, they get as much as 6 feet of snow. That would be nice if we experience that once a year. Although, many people that it's a hassle. But for me, snow makes the holidays even more meaningful. So let it snow. let it snow!

It's All About The Kids

Today we are going to the Del Norte Fair because I want the kids to enjoy all the rides. I was able to buy three tickets for only $60 for the unlimited rides. I was able to save $30 because I bought the tickets in advance so I got 30% off the price. Exciting! Last year, I didn't buy tickets for unlimited rides because my son is only three years old but still it cost me more for just one kid alone. My thoughts are always about my kids and my husband. Now that I'm working part time, I feel like I am missing them a lot. Imagine next month is my daughter's 6th birthday. How time flies so fast. I have to order Kids Birthday Invitations because I have less than a month to invite our friends. I have to buy her birthday wish in advance before I will run out of stock. So I hope today it will be sunny so the kids will enjoy our fair escapade.

Washington Trip

I went home late today today because one of my good friends who moved to Vancouver Washington visited us . She's been the jolly one in the group. When she moved two years ago, our group doesn't hang out together like it used to be. Her house  is always our venue when we get together. We are all happy to see her again. Tomorrow we will be throwing a party for her daughter who just graduated in the Marines. And it will be held at my house. Then next month, we planned on visiting her in Washington. We will be staying at her house. I'm going to order a couple of Sierra Designs Sleeping Bags for a comfortable sleep. I need those stuffs for travelling. It's always nice when once in awhile we get together like this. I think it's awesome!

Getting Ready For Summer

The weather is getting sunnier everyday. The grasses are getting greener. You can see people in their yards trimming their hedges with their echo trimmer. It's nice driving around in the neighborhood looking at the neighbors nice landscape and clean gardens. It adds a relaxing feeling. It gives you a wonderful feeling. Sometimes me and my family drive around the beach front area and we saw a nice view of our city. I'm really happy that we live here in Crescent City. The weather is mostly chilly but we also got our fair share of sunshine.

Road Trip

My friend in Nevada often goes on a road trip with her husband and mother-in-law. They start in Nevada then follow the coastal road, all the way to Oregon then California. The mother-in-law has this big and beautiful RV.I think It's fun and I would love to do it one day. I asked my husband if we can get an RV someday but he's too worried for the cost of rv repairs. It shouldn't be that much though especially if you a good insurance. It's just about the same amount as with a regular vehicle. But, if you are up to date with the maintenance I don't think there will be problems.

We're Here At Best Western

My husband has a 5 day seminar here in Eureka, so I'm super lovin' it. It's nice to get out of town once in awhile. We checked in yesterday here in Best Western Bayshore Inn. It's like a de javu because we stayed here last year and couple of years ago too. Our room has two queen beds, and of course has a high speed Internet access. I pretty much like staying here because the rooms are clean and they have all the amenities that I needed and not to forget their full breakfast plus the Marie Callender's Restaurant is just beside the hotel. And if me and the kids got bored, the Bayshore Mall is just a walking distance. But my husband just let me used the car, and I'm just giving him a ride to and from the USDA office where the seminar was conducted so I can drive around the city. Actually they have nice spots here to go to so I might bring the kids there. So I wished these five days say in this place will be full of fun and relaxation.

Have You Played Golf?

I admit I haven't tried playing an actual golf ever since. But one of my friends does. It's her family's activity during the weekends. I can see that it's a fun way of family bonding. I want to try but I'm hesitant that I might just get embarrassed. For me, it does look easy but one time when I played miniature golf for the kids I couldn't hit the the ball. Someday, I will really try it, like they said "Golf is in the mind...not the swing". I love challenges and trying new things and I always believe that practice makes perfect. So maybe in the future I will be playing golf like a pro :-). Wish me luck.

Outdoor Activites During Winter

Someone told me that my 3 year daughter is a little bit big for her age. That's why she need to engage in activities for toddlers like dancing. I was already planning to enroll her in a dance class this coming Spring season. But although it's Winter there are still a lot of outdoor activities that she can go to. For example walking in the woods. A lady once told me that walking in the woods during winter is fun. I was surprised. For me, it seems sound scary. Then I realized many people do that here. It maybe safe then. We just have to wear thick Winter clothes and reliable tools like Surefire Flashlights .Good timing because beginning today, my husband will be off from work for 17 days. I am so excited. At least now, me and the kids have company during the day because during Winter, the days seems very gloomy especially when it rains. Another outdoor activity is walking by the beach and watch the waves. It's fun and very relaxing most especially if you're together with your family.I just wish that Winter season will pass by quickly this year because last year it was a long Winter.

The Sale Is Still On

My after Thanksgiving shopping this year was not as huge compare last year since we weren't able to go to the mall but I was able to shop in one specialty store whdere I was able to buy clothes and toys for my children. The prices were so low and I'm so happy because I saved a lot. I decided to just shop online for me and my husband's clothing. I was also able to take advantage of great deals. The sale is still on until December 1. That's why I'm thinking of taking advantage of the Nikon Ultimate Hunter's Package Promo. This is the best deal ever. My husband loves to go out shooting and this one right here is perfect for him to enhance his shooting skills.

Anyways, this morning he brought his truck to steam clean the engine. and all the necessary works to get it ready for the Sea Cruise. I'm excited because I will see exotic cars again. I hope it won't rain.
