Treatment

I think this is funny. I was already when my teacher asked me question about the things that she discussed to me. It's almost one o'clock when she tested me. She has what hx stands for. I said history, dx stands for diagnosis. She then asked me what tx stands for. I had a mental block. I can't think what it stands for. So I said, tx stands for message as in text message. She laughed so hard and she decided that we will call a day :-).

Savers

My 9 and 6 year old are doing good with their dollar dog savings account. Dollar dog is a program of the Chetco Federal Bank that encourages student to save money. I like it because it helps my kids realize the importance of saving. They said they will use their money to buy their own computer which is a good idea, but I'm thinking of checking out the kobo reviews right now at their ages, an ebook is better than a computer where they just probably play games all the time. With an e-reader, they will be encouraged to read.

Venus Transit

Every century or so, something truly special happens in the sky, and it happens twice: Venus passes in between the sun and earth. The most recent one was in 2004, and the second half of the pair is next week, during sunset on June 5th for North American observers, and during sunrise on June 6th for many in Europe and Asia. After this, the next one isn’t until 2117.In the United States, the transit will begin at roughly 6:04 Eastern, 5:04 Central, 4:05 Mountain, and 3:06 Pacific Time. ( The Smithsonia.web)

Essay

I have to make a profile essay for my English,  but I haven't even started it yet. I just can't compose it yet. Essay composition is something that I cannot just in a nick of time. I need to concentrate for it. I'm jealous of my classmates who are so quick in making essays. I love writing, but not long essays. I'm really hoping I can do it tonight.

Spring Term

The Soring Term started yesterday, so I went to school early at 8 o'clock. When I arrived there I found out that our class  in CS 101 was cancelled because there was only two students who registered. It was disappointing because I had to drive all the way from Crescent City which is a 30  minutes drive. I just went home right away even though I had to go back to work at 3pm at least I still have four hours to clean our house. When I got home I checked my online classes and it was full of lectures already.I was happy because I was able to order a book for my AH 111 class and it's way cheaper than in our bookstore price. I hope tomorrow it will be here so I can start doing my homework.

Thankful Thursday

It was a very good day yesterday. It started by being able to talk to my mom over the phone. We had a nice talk about anything. I missed her so much but she will be here soon. Then I a marvelous day at work. After work, me and my friend stop by at work force center to look for  Medical Records Technician Jobs because what we had now is just a part time job. In medical field, the salary is much higher. I can't wait to get my Pharmacy technician diploma. It would be great.  I got home at around 3pm, then I talk to my best friend in Tennessee who bought me a Cole Haan purse. She always think about me everytime she found a good deal on purses. She will pay it first then I will send her the money. Then later in the afternoon, my son had a soccer game. And we won. It was an awesome game. Both teams are tough, they didn't get to score on the 1st half. But in the second my son's team keep getting score. We are so happy. I'm so proud of my son and all the kids and their parents who supported.

Next Month's Celebrant

From the month of June until October, I have birthday celebration each month. June is my birthday month, then July my son and my baby girl, August, my sister, September, my daughter and father and next month is my eldest kid's birthday. And buying gifts for them is a struggle because I have to be fair for everybody and I have to make sure that they got what they wanted. But they have to realize that birthdays is not all about gifts, it's about being thankful that you have a wonderful life and being healthy. But being a mom, it's hard not to buy them gifts but I'm just glad that Bianca just want an electronic book for her birthday instead of dolls. At least this one, it will help her in reading because it's educational.

If There's A Will There's A Way

Education plays an important role in developing our personality. When you are educated you are not scared to explore the world because you have the foundation of learning. I would like to set an example between two individuals that I  know personally. Let me call them Jel and Maria. Jel grew up in a wealthy family where she is the only girl. She's spoiled and was allowed to spend vacations every year out of the country. Everything is provided for her by her parents. While Maria grew up from a poor family. Her parents are farmers. She has four siblings that's why their income is not enough to enjoy the luxuries in life. But Maria's parents worked hard almost 24/7 to send them all to school. Even if they have to eat one meal a day just to support their schooling. Maria and her siblings finished school and got college education. Jel on the other  hand didn't even finished high school because she don't like going to school, finding it not necessary because her parents have so much money. Fifteen years later. Maria is now a successful person, not very rich but was able to marry a decent man and was able to support their kids to school and living life comfortably. Jel on the other hand, married a drug addict and controlling person who works illegally. They're basically continuously watching behind their back scared being caught. They are dependent on the welfare program in the government. Her husband didn't go to school also and wasn't able to finish even elementary. Their kids often missed school also.
Education will give you more opportunities and it helps you solve problems easier because you will be able to think of many resources instead of stealing.  Here in America, there are so many opportunities to go to school. If you think you're old already to go to school, not it's not. Check out WaldenU.edu, it's one of the highly recognized online university that can offer you financial aid in case you need to. Don't let poverty hinder your yearning for success. In Walden University, you will find many courses that are being offered that will suit your interests. Find where you're good at and focus on it. They have many scholarships offering too. That is a big help also. Get an education! Dream big and make it happened.

Graduation Gift

One of my friend's kids is graduating next month. He's such a smart boy. He excelled academically and in extra curricular activities. He won in spelling bee contests and active soccer and basketball player. He's a well rounded kid with so many talents. He's a joy to his parents and we're proud of him. I'm thinking of buying a personalize gift for him. Something that will symbolize his achievements in school. For example, a laptop sleeve with his name on it and something that says " Number 1 Grad" or I am thinking of ordering custom lapel pins to celebrate for his graduate and make it as giveaways for his graduation party. I think that sounds  cool and unique.

Overwhelmed

When I searched for an online university last week, I received so many calls already from many schools. I was overwhelmed by the information I got.I can't believed in one day I received  two or three calls and then I also got some brochures in the mail. Too many schools to choose from that's why I need a lot of thinking for these. It's hard to just jump into one school without being able to inquire from other schools. I'm just kinda intimidated because some of the school councilors are so determined in encouraging me to pick their school. I have a hard time to tell them no. But I will take my time to weigh things out, to choose which is the best online school for me. Haste make waste so I will just take my time.

Turning My Blog Into A Book

I have three blog that I maintained for three years now. The first one is this one. It used to be called Pampered then I changed it into Maria's Point Of View. With this blog I have more than 500 posts. This blog tackles about everything that I faced in life, the lessons I learned from fashion to character. My second blog is entitled Happyheart. It's one of my favorite and has higher page rank compared to my two blog. I love its design because it's made by my friend Carlota from Dashing Smiles. Happyheart tackles more on my shopping escapades. It's more on product reviews. I have more than 700 posts there already too. My newer blog is called Purelove. It's more on my motherhood journey where I blogged about kids and how I learned as a mother and how motherhood changed me into a better person. I have more than 500 posts there too. As I go through my older posts, it kinda put a smile in my face. That's why I really love to make my blog into a book. By using Velo Bind book binding machine, I can have a professional finish book. I'm really excited about this. I want to make several copies for my family, my children and my siblings. I think they will love this idea too.

Grants

Last week I submitted my application for school grants, hoping I could get a lesser tuition when I go back to school. I was inspired by a close friend of mine who just graduated last December. Going to school here in America is not as stressful as it sounds because the teachers are more understanding and dedicated in helping you. But I have to anticipate the expenses. It would be much higher than what I have spent in the Philippines. I looked for grants to help financially so that all I have to worry are the uniforms, materials and books. But we can buy these at discounted price online.I'm good in finding the best deal when it comes to shopping for better deals.

Preschool Parent Advisory Meeting

Even though I'm so busy as a bee, I still signed up for the Preschool Advisory Meeting this afternoon at 4PM at the Family Resource Center. I don't think that it is necessary but I think it is important. They have activities lined up such as
  • Brooke Davis presents on "reading to your Child"
  • Healthy Home Activities by Champions for Change
  • Harvest of the Month Recipes and Taste Testing
  • Discussion with Parent on their Questions and Concerns
They provide childcare for ages 2-5 years old. I am just hoping that none of my kids fall sleep before we leave because they usually fall asleep as soon as they arrive from school.

Determined

Once in awhile, a good friend of mine asked me to help her in their clinic. I'm sort of like an on call. Whenever their receptionist is off, I'll came over to help them. I was trained for two days last month and I kinda followed already. My friend is so organized and patient in teaching me. And she's very understanding with my mistakes. Even though I don't work often but I'm determined to be good with my job because I'm hoping they would hire me someday. It's very self fulfilling working in their office because   I learned a lot from them. I know now how to handle office work, from encoding, posting payments, dealing with scanner software, scheduling appointments. Knowing all these stuffs will diversify my skills in the future. I will not stop learning. I am a determined person.

Opportunities

When I was asked if I want to train in a doctor's clinic as a receptionist, I said yes right away. It's an opportunity that I can't pass. As the saying goes, "Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can." I don't have an experience in customer service jobs before so I believe that training in Gray Chiropractic Clinic is a blessing. I learned a lot from them. I have practised how to answer business calls.I learned how how to make appointments for the patients, posting their account and payments. In customer service, you just have to be polite, focus, sincere and persuasive. It's one of the jobs that I will consider first when I got the chance.

Get Ahead of The Game

I'm so proud of my friend's daughter because they found out that she's going straight to sophomore College. She's the class salutatorian of Del Norte High School Class 2010. Before the school ends she's already taking college classes. She enrolled in UCLA and they credited all the units that she earned from her previous school. That's what I'm talking about getting ahead of the game. In all endeavors we always anticipate the hardships and prepare ourselves all the time. In any four or five year course, we always take a licensure examination to get a title or certificate and in my course which is Electronics and Communication Engineering, once you passed the board examination, you will be addressed as engineer. But in order to achieve it, you  have to take review classes. It's a good thing for business management graduates because they can enroll for a gmat prep online and works great and reliable. They are assured for a high quality review and they are a hundred percent way ahead of the game.
